Taos: Camino de la Serna and Arroyo Hondo land grants
I'm not making this up. Some locals formed a Spanish land grant board under NM law for land encompassing most of Taos. They filed claim to title for most of Taos. All real estate sales and refinancings have stalled in 2011. WAITING FOR QUEEN ISABELLA TO RULE, I guess.

Indian land?
Wandering around Taos, you will see large undeveloped tracts of land. Locals often say they are non-contiguous Pueblo lands. Difficult to confirm.

Western ranch appearance
Infrequently, elements of Western ranch style are adopted as a building style. The dark browns contrast with golds of willow trees catching the afternoon sun.
